In the Maori world, the words taringa whakarongo means to listen with your ears. How ever the word whaka-a-rongo means to listen intensely with all your senses. When some one speaks to you, you take the concept of whaka-a-rongo and apply them all to the person speaking. Whaka-a-rongo will ask these questions. What do you see? What is their body language saying? What is missing, or said between the lines? What are you hearing? How is the tone of their speech? How does the conversation feel? What does the conversation taste like? What is your intuition telling you?
Next time you have a conversation try using all your senses. Write down your new discoveries

#Engaging with others using ALL your senses
