The way in which a person interprets the world is based on their past experiences. Their past experiences shape the lens through which they view the world.
For those who have experienced mental distress, anxiety, depression, trauma or any other deficit positioning, it also paints or informs the way in which they operate, regardless of the situation.
While history is a good teacher it can also create positions, where the person is constantly reactive.
They are re-acting to a circumstance or circumstances based on the negative thought patterns they have, and the negative emotions that come with them, stemming from an environment that shaped these patterns.
It is only when someone comes to the realisation, that they are being controlled by their environment and the negative thoughts, self talk and emotions that comes with it that they begin to look for a remedy.
To establish a remedy you can begin to determine the best version of yourself that you can begin being today
Become present and conscious in your awareness of your mind body and soul.
Begin making your own decisions as opposed to letting your environment, or your body take control on auto pilot function.
Write down:
- 4 things you want to be conscious of today
How you want to speak (including to yourself)
How you want to act (Including to yourself)
Add emotion and intent to these actions
You are moving from being past informed and victim focused to future focused and taking control of your destiny.
